12/07 Casting Solutions for the Small Studio
12/07 Casting Solutions for the Small Studio
Saturday, December 7, 2024
10:00 am - 1:00 pm PDT
Instructor: Jennifer Stenhouse
The process of casting can require a lot of equipment, expense, and space. However, there are several solutions for smaller studios that are suitable for people who want to cast their own work, but don't have either the space or the resources to buy expensive equipment. Jennifer will introduce you to a variety of solutions to help you creatively incorporate casting into your work and studio space. Students will learn about a simpler way of lost wax casting, molds, finding a casting service, and gravity and vacuum casting solutions.
Students are encouraged to bring their questions about what they would like to achieve and their casting needs to the class.
Do you have:
An idea of what you want to cast?
A space you want to use for casting?
A budget for equipment?
Limitations on what you can do in your space?
Some casting experience but nowhere to cast?
A love for wax carving and nowhere to cast?
Prerequisite: Students should have basic jewelry skills. Also, having previous casting experience is helpful.
All classes include the video recording, which you will have access to for 60 days after the class. The Zoom link, handouts, video(s), and other important information can be found by clicking on the individual class link on the "My Courses" page.
You also get 1 free session of Open Studio Access (OSA) in the month following the class, and the Zoom link for that can also be found on the course video access page.
