Learn how to size your rings appropriately and precisely. Every jewelry maker needs to know how to make a ring. However, resizing temporarily or permanently, larger or smaller accurately can be tricky. What’s the best option for the situation? There are many ways to consider to get the correct.
During this workshop, the focus will be on accurately adjusting the size of the ring for the situation, considering the options, and solder setups. We will demonstrate and discuss solder situations involving various types of connections that can make attaching parts easier for more professional results. We will also discuss where to source findings for temporary solutions.
Other topics to be covered include various challenges with your particular projects.
Demos and discussions include:
- Measuring for the adjustment, smaller or larger
- Cutting for accurate results
- Adding sizing beads
- Adding findings to reduce size
- Soldering for adding and subtracting parts for size
- Soldering with stones already in place
Soldering tools, contraptions and devices Recommended supplies and materials are based on individual needs. We will be discussing the best options for you so you can be an informed consumer. You can practice with what you have, or order later based on today’s lesson. You may want to practice on a few sample bands and rings.
