All Levels
All classes include the video recording, which you will have access to for 30 days after the class. Zoom link and instructions for joining the call will be emailed 1 day (24 hours) prior to class.
The class supply list is below and contains links to buy the supplies you need.
There are so many burs! But, what do they all do? In this workshop we will discuss, demonstrate, and familiarize students with the wide variety of burs designed for use with the flexible shaft drill or other similar rotary tools, with a specific focus on the diamond burs and cutting wheels. During the workshop participants will: learn what purpose different shapes and styles serve, how to add texture and writing, how to notch and alter cabochon stones, and how to drill and cut ceramic, stone, and glass. The objective of the class is to give students the knowledge and confidence to work with a diamond bur on metal and non-metal materials. We’ll pay specific attention to what each shape can do so that your work takes on a more unique look and feel.
Techniques demonstrated will include pattern, texture, drilling, cutting, finishing, and general usage.
I invite your questions and encourage class participation! Students are encouraged to experiment in class to create samples using copper, stone, glass, and ceramic.
All Levels Welcome!
